Heat the book not the movie
Books: Heat by Bill Buford: "Bill Buford's book 'Heat' last month. The biggest surprise was, upon finishing the book, realizing that 'Heat' is hands down one of the best books on food that I've read in recent years." I read that book in record time, it has a few lengthy chapters, but all in all it was a very good read. The guy is passionate and he went the extra mile to research, and in the end it wasn't work anymore it was love of cooking and knowing how to prepare food. His depiction of Batali and White makes them bigger than life.
