Fred's online thoughts. What you can expect: Opinions on Innovation, new product design, user experience, Software Engineering, Outsourcing - or what is called Outsourced Product Development, Business, technology in general and from time to time food! I have lots opinions on our great Canadian politicians, but you will have to pay me a beer when we get to meet to hear about them!

microISV :: a community for independent software developers This guy is using Gmail as a code repository. This would be a nice hack to transform an e-mail adress in a source code repository. Obviously fully searchable. I wonder how the versionning could be handled...hmm! No real value, just nice.

GMail Drive shell extension (Software) Every body is watching Google so closely, they got such a huge following. So many programmers are just thinking how can I leverage Google's software and API. Just around GMail, I find little things here and there that are pretty interesting. This Gmail as a v-drive is very interesting. I also use in Firefox an extension that checks my account every now and then so that I don't need to log, and run the risk of them deactivating my account because I don't use it much... Now that maps.google.com is out, how many more innovations are going to come out of such clever hack, Google has outdone themselves.

Slashdot | Microsoft to Acquire Groove Networks: "
Comment: We worked with Groove a while Back at Macadamian. I've had the opporutnity to witness first hand Ray Ozzie's sharpness. I'm reading on as to what this all means. MS had fairly sizable chunk of them, as per a 50M investments maybe three years back. Ray Ozzie will become MS's CTO, he certainly understand the windows platofrm from several angles, being on the Notes side, pushing the envelop...Oh My! Not a big suprise lots will think, still I think this guy knows how to create value"
